    Chief Executive Officer

    Expert in leading multi-disciplinary Medical Device development teams, developing products in compliance with ISO13485, from Discovery to Development to Design Transfer and market implementation. With expertise in Risk Management, Design Methodology and Usability Engineering.

  • Frank Sterke, MSc

    Inventor & Technical Lead

    Frank brings his expertise on the technology, creativity, his practical approach to research and development, and drive the development of the insufflator into a market-worthy product.

  • Willem van Weteringen, MD

    Inventor & Clinical Lead

    Willem is Clinical Researcher at Erasmus MC, and currently practicing in the anesthesiology department. Together with John Vlot and Frank Sterke he has been driving the research on developing the next generation insufflation technology. Willem has taken on the Clinical Lead role in Spatium Medical, leading the Clinical Evaluation activities.

    Quality and Regulatory Lead

    Nicolette is an expert in Medical Device Quality Systems and Regulatory affairs. Collaborating closely with teams, Nicolette facilitates the development and successful registration of products, ensuring adherence to necessary standards and regulations. With her expertise in various jurisdictions including Europe, United States, Australia and Africa, she navigates the intricacies of compliance, empowering teams to deliver safe and effective medical innovations.

  • Lisanne van Dijk, MSc

    Project Leader

    Lisanne is driven to bring meaningful ideas from 0 to 1. She is an expert in complex-problem-solving using user-centered design approaches. After working on various medical R&D projects, Lisanne co-founded a MedTech startup where she enriched her expertise in the field of project and product management, QA/RA, finance, legal and business development.

  • Lies Keijser, MSc

    Product Developer

    Lies obtained a master’s degree in integrated product design with a Medisign specialization. As an expert in user-centered design and personalization, Lies ensures the user needs will be met in the insufflator product development.

  • Rebecca Breda, MSc

    Product Developer

    Rebecca is a biomedical engineer with experience in medical devices. With her cross-disciplinary approach and knowledge of surgical instruments, she supports the design and development of the insufflator.

  • Kim Jeucken, PhD

    Financial Strategy Lead

    As team leader of the Strategic Venture Financing Services team of FFUND, Kim supports life science entrepreneurs. She has joined the Spatium Medical team to strengthen our team with her knowledge in building compelling business cases, and on the design and execution of solid and sustainable financing strategies.

  • John Vlot, MD

    Inventor & Scientific Advisory Board

    John has been a pediatric surgeon at Erasmus MC Sophia since 2006. His area of focus is "upper GI" (complex GI tract resections). John is, in particular, interested in innovating surgical treatments and leads the Erasmus Surgical Innovation research team.

  • Raffaele Dellaca, Prof

    Inventor & Scientific Advisory Board

    Raffaele is professor of biomedical electronics and responsible of the Technologies for Respiration Laboratory at the Politecnico di Milano University. Raffaele is mainly interested in medical devices, researching the bioengineering of the respiratory system and developing new technologies for the analysis of respiration, mechanical ventilation, and anesthesia in adults and newborns.
